  1. Fabulous! I haven’t read any of these books but I definitely want to now, although I did hear Michelle Obama reading Becoming on the radio which was fabulous too!! Good luck with 2019 and Happy New Year!!!

  2. Okay, I’m gonna check out Reading Literature Causes Misogyny. I don’t remember reading that one before. And I hope you enjoy Circe — one of my books of the year!

    • I’m a big fan of Wil Wheaton! Have been ever since Star Trek TNG and the film Stand By Me. But his blog is also awesome.

  3. How exciting to see Edna Ferber on someone’s blog! Her novel Fanny Herself was one of my absolute favourites as a teenager, and even though (revisiting it as an adult) I can see problems with it, I still think she was an absolute genius of a writer. Her short stories are also great.

  4. So, it’s too bad Strunk & White’s Elements of Style disappointed. I’ve read it for pleasure a few times, but not in the last 20 or so years. Lincoln in the Bardo is resting comfortably on my TBR table–I want to read it but the right mood has yet to strike. Glad to hear it was such a winner. I am personally loving Circe–so many interesting themes to think about–it’s not as good as Achilles, but close. I think Edna Ferber is the best mostly forgotten American writer. I love Show Boat and have read it at least 3 times.
